Reference · The Studio
The words the studio uses, defined as the studio uses them. Twelve terms that recur in every engagement.
Print design carries a vocabulary that shifts between studios, and a word that means one thing in a mill can mean another in a design house. These are the definitions Mila Prints Design works from. Some are terms of the craft. Some name the studio's own services and method. All of them appear in briefs, proposals and conversations with the houses we work alongside.
A design practice led by a single creative voice, where every work carries a distinct authorial perspective rather than a collective or production-line output. Mila Prints Design is an author's studio: all print narratives are led personally by Agustina Sorrentini. The term distinguishes MPD from agencies, studios of multiple designers, and print production houses.
See The Studio
The visual identity, cultural references, tonal language, and commercial positioning that define a fashion house's distinct creative character. An Atelier commission begins with a deep reading of collection DNA before any mark is made.
One color variation of a single print. The drawing, scale and composition stay fixed while the palette changes. Colorways let one print narrative serve several moments in a collection without becoming a different print, and they are decided against the collection's color architecture rather than chosen in isolation.
The collaborative process between MPD and a client during an Atelier engagement. Every decision is made in dialogue, every revision is intentional. It is the working method that distinguishes Atelier from a production service, and it is the reason the studio does not describe its process in rounds.

MPD's term for its client universe: Creative Directors, Heads of Print, and Owners of premium and luxury fashion houses who hold high creative and commercial standards. The studio does not work with every house that inquires; it curates its collaborations to maintain the integrity of the practice.
MPD's 360° creative direction service. The studio acts as strategic creative partner, aligning trend intelligence, print narrative, color strategy, and silhouette direction across a full collection. For houses that need the narrative, not just the print.
The studio's bespoke print design service. A print narrative built from scratch around a single collection's DNA, developed in full creative dialogue with the client's team from brief to final delivery. The process moves through four stages: Brief and Immersion, Trend and Sketching, the Creative Conversation, and Final Artistry. This is the pinnacle of the studio's offer.

The studio's curated capsule service. Original print narratives developed by Agustina Sorrentini and released exclusively to one fashion house per capsule. Once a house acquires a capsule, it is permanently retired from the MPD archive and will never be offered to another house. Access is by invitation.
The digital platform through which MPD manages its Editions archive and client relationships, and through which invited houses browse and acquire Editions capsules. Access is granted to houses that have been invited into Editions.
A print designed with an intentional visual logic that governs not just the marks drawn but how each element behaves in relation to every other element. A print narrative carries meaning; it communicates something about the collection's identity and creative direction. MPD's position is that every collection deserves a print narrative, not merely a decorative pattern.
The repeat unit of a print: the complete area of artwork that tiles edge to edge to produce a continuous surface. A rapport is resolved when the joins between tiles cannot be found by eye and no accidental line or cluster emerges across the cloth. Scale of rapport is a design decision, not a technical one, because it determines how much of the print a single garment can show.
A curated grouping of original print narratives by Agustina Sorrentini around a single thematic or seasonal direction, offered exclusively to one house through MPD Editions. Once acquired, the capsule and all prints within it are permanently retired from the archive.
